Audience Research

After we were done, there were a few people like family, friends and classmates to review our film opening. There is always room for improvement, but there wasn't a single person that didn't ask "What happens next?" The plot was so happening that the test audiences were intrigued and entertained at all times. And it wasn't even that the audiences were of the same age. We got an overall positive response from everyone and that helps us grow as individuals, and as a group.

CCR Question 4

How did you integrate technologies (online, hardware and software) into this project?

Draft:

The script for this question:

"In this project, we used various types of technologies and incorporated them in pre-production, production and post-production. Our skills developed through these technologies.

For pre-production, we used online technologies such as search engines like Google. I used Google to get ideas and visualize the film opening whereas, for some of the audios, I also used YouTube to convert videos into audios. For example, the typing sound is actually not the sound from the keyboard that was being used.

For the time of the production, for the shooting, we used a Nikon camera with different lenses to create different effects such as focus pull. Then we also used an iPhone 12 and an iPhone 13 for our shooting. To stabilize the movement, we used a phone gimble as well as a camera gimble for a day. We also used a tripod at the beginning for testing and trialling. This really helped with the stability and helped us understand the tools and tricks to figure it out.

For post-production, we used adobe premiere and Alight motion. Most of the editing was done on premiere whereas the title making was done on ‘Alight motion’. Everything from the transition to the title credits was done on premiere whereas for the title we used alight motion specifically. I tested on different colours and fonts within the app and after a while, it fell into place, even though it was a new experience.

This process more importantly not only taught us to integrate technologies but also taught us how they are used and why they’re so helpful"

      • Scene 2: Working female
  • No race representation (because they're the same race)

  • Eye-opening
